Indiana State Senator Jeff Raatz
Jeff Raatz, a Republican, currently serves as the Indiana State Senator for District 27, which contains Henry, Union and Wayne Counties and a portion of Franklin County.
Jeff was raised in Northern Michigan on a 1000-acre apple and cherry farm managed by his father. Learning to work at an early age taught him to appreciate earning wages through hard work with honesty and integrity.
Jeff served in the United States Army upon graduation from High School, where he further strengthened his commitment to honor, integrity, and loyalty to America.
He married Lisa on August 11, 1990, and has two daughters, Samantha and Robyn. Samantha is married to Brandon from Centerville, Indiana while Robyn graduated from Miami of Ohio and lives in Cincinnati, Ohio. To date, the Raatz family has no grandchildren but has been blessed with a grand dog named Maverik.
Prior to moving to Richmond, Indiana, Jeff worked in the Industrial Distribution Industry in Northwest Michigan. He earned a BBA in 1990 and immediately taught as Adjunct Faculty for several years and completed a Master’s at IU in 2017.
Jeff and his family moved to Richmond in 1998 where he served at a large ministry as Vice-President of Operations. He currently is the owner of Raatz LLC, a business coaching organization offering consulting in general business functions, specializing in finance and carries an active Insurance License. In addition, he works as the Assistant Director of the Eastern Indiana Regional Planning Commission. Jeff also serves on several Statewide Boards and Commissions and on the executive board of his church. He has served Senate District 27 since 2014 and currently is the Chairman of the Senate Education Committee.
